MANILA, Philippines — Mika Reyes is happy to contribute to PLDT’s intact lineup in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

Reyes made the most of her opportunity to start for PLDT, dropping 10 points to help sweep Farm Fresh,  25-20, 25-17, 25-19, on Tuesday at Philsports Arena.

“Thankful lang din ako sa opportunity. And sabi naman ng coaching staff na kahit sino man gamitin sa line-up, makaka-perform naman,” said Reyes, who drilled nine of her 19 attack attempts and an ace.

With more options now in Kianna Dy’s return and most of his players regaining their top shape, the High Speed Hitters coach Rald Ricafort utilized the depth of his bench, helping Savi Davison, who continued her scoring tear with 26 points.

With a 6-3 record and complete roster, Reyes likes her team’s progress with two more preliminary round games against Creamline on February 13 in Antipolo and ZUS Coffee on Feb.22 in Iloilo before the qualifying round.

“I can say na steady siya, pero at the same time, dapat hindi kami maging complacent since, especially the next game, mas buo talaga sila and champion team. I think, dagdag motivation ‘tong [win], pero marami pa kaming kailangan ayusin,” she said.

The former La Salle star vows to stay ready for PLDT whether she starts or comes out off the bench.

“Hindi pa rin naman talaga tapos ‘tong laban na ‘to. Marami pang magiging games. And kailangan lang na maging ready talaga na kahit sino hugutin, makakatulong sa loob,” Reyes said.
